Recently, Chen Jilai, Chairman of DOHO Group, traveled to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, where he engaged in in-depth discussions with a number of political, business, and industry leaders. The exchanges focused on key topics such as the upgrading of Laos’ power grid infrastructure, the application of smart grid technologies, and the implementation of cross-border power cooperation projects. These meetings enabled precise alignment with regional energy development needs and injected new momentum into DOHO Group’s efforts to deepen practical China–Laos energy cooperation and support ASEAN energy integration.
Engaging Power Grid Leaders to Jointly Advance Network Upgrades
In Vientiane, Chen Jilai first met with Lin Rui, Chairman, and Li Jiru, General Manager of Électricité du Laos Transmission Company (EDL-T) and the Southern Power Grid of Laos. The discussions centered on the upgrading of power grid infrastructure in southern Laos and the deployment of smart grid technologies.
Chen Jilai highlighted DOHO Group’s strengths and mature experience in high-voltage equipment R&D, transmission line supporting technologies, and intelligent upgrading solutions. Both sides held in-depth exchanges on key issues including quality enhancement and renovation of high-voltage transmission lines in Laos, optimization of line operation and maintenance, and adaptability of high-voltage equipment. Chairman Lin Rui spoke highly of DOHO Group’s technical capabilities and expressed expectations for future cooperation in transmission line projects and high-voltage businesses, with the goal of strengthening the regional grid framework and improving overall power system stability.

Partnering with a Power Construction Giant to Deepen the Green Energy Sector
Subsequently, Chairman Chen visited the Laos Representative Office of PowerChina International Group, where he held extensive talks with Yu Peng, Deputy General Manager of PowerChina Laos, on topics such as power equipment supply, technical adaptation, and project integration.
As a core enterprise deeply involved in Laos’ infrastructure development, PowerChina Laos has extensive experience in energy engineering projects. During the meeting, Chen Jilai introduced DOHO Group’s key power equipment offerings, including renewable energy system integration equipment, intelligent prefabricated substations, and smart transformers, outlining their performance advantages and applicable scenarios. Based on PowerChina’s existing and upcoming project needs, the two sides reached consensus on customized equipment supply, coordinated installation and commissioning, and post-delivery operation and maintenance support, aiming to provide high-quality power equipment for energy projects in Laos and support local clean energy development and grid construction.

Strengthening China-Funded Collaboration to Clarify Cooperation Directions
Chen Jilai also met with Shen Xueqin, President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Laos. The Chamber introduced Laos’ business environment, energy industry policies, and the development status of Chinese enterprises in the country, providing full-cycle services such as policy consultation, rights protection, and resource coordination. These insights offered valuable guidance for DOHO Group’s business expansion in Laos.
During the meeting, Chairman Chen emphasized DOHO Group’s core strengths in three key areas: renewable energy system integration, intelligent prefabricated substations, and smart transformer production lines. The two sides conducted targeted discussions on investment hotspots in Laos’ power sector, financial support mechanisms, and legal risk mitigation. Both parties agreed to use the Chamber as a bridge to strengthen communication with local governments and enterprises, build cooperation platforms, and help DOHO Group integrate more rapidly into the Lao market and achieve localized development.

Connecting with the Lao National Chamber of Commerce to Deepen Cross-Border Trade Cooperation
Finally, Chen Jilai met with Oudet Souvannavong, President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI). President Oudet has long been committed to promoting trade and economic cooperation between Laos and countries including China, achieving notable results particularly in China–Laos railway–related trade and investment, as well as cooperation between the business communities of Laos and China’s Yunnan Province.
During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on cross-border energy trade between China and Laos and localized cooperation in power equipment manufacturing. President Oudet expressed his willingness to actively connect DOHO Group with local Lao resources, help the company seize investment opportunities arising from the China–Laos Railway, and deepen practical cooperation in the power equipment sector.

Advancing the Belt and Road Initiative and Expanding Southeast Asia’s Energy Market
This series of business engagements represents an important step in DOHO Group’s active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and its strategic expansion in the Southeast Asian energy market. Through multi-level and in-depth engagement with institutions such as the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Laos, as well as enterprises including the Southern Power Grid of Laos and PowerChina Laos, DOHO Group has further consolidated its regional cooperation foundation.
Looking ahead, DOHO Group will take these discussions as a new starting point, fully leveraging its three core strengths—renewable energy system integration, intelligent prefabricated substations, and smart transformer production lines—to continuously deepen cooperation with partners in Laos and Indonesia. By actively integrating into the regional energy integration process, DOHO Group will empower local energy industry upgrades through advanced technologies and professional services, steadily expand its footprint in Southeast Asia, and achieve mutual benefits for both the enterprise and regional economies, while opening a new chapter in China–Laos and China–Indonesia energy cooperation.
